College all around the world have a department which caters to finance.  Whilst some may be more prominent than others, it is nevertheless a given fact that nearly every general education college will have a finance program.  However, Finance College is a college which caters specifically to providing students with a financial education.  But in truth there is one finance college in relation to every five general education colleges out there.  So why are they so scarce?

One of the reasons as to why there may not be so many Finance Colleges is that most colleges do not find it necessary to specialize in one subject.  In fact nearly all the time tertiary education has been available, Finance College would be part of the Department of Economics and Business Management, and where students could then be offered courses specially relating to finance.

Yet with the recent boom in finance and the globilization of economic trends more and more people have been looking for quality in relation to specialist training on finances.  This has now enabled the Finance College to worm its way into the relatively small world of specialist colleges that are now out there.

As the name implies, Finance College teaches its students mainly about finance, although the courses may vary from certificate and diploma level to the more exacting bachelor, master and Phd degree levels.  Such courses will include aspects relating to economics, business management, accounting and law to provide their students with a well rounded education.

Recently Finance Colleges are gaining popularity with more and more financial advisors and anaylsts who are opting to attend a specialized Finance College in order to earn their degree.  There are even some colleges who have kept finance under the umbrella of a broader department are now branching out into fully fledged Finance Colleges instead.

With the inseption of online education this has provided a relevant step in the setting up of Finance Colleges.  Many schools and colleges are now offering an online finance course.  Although some might only lead to a 2 year certificate they are often associated with other schools and colleges to allow their students to pursue their studies to obtaining a finance degree.
